OK,WHO is going to downtown in October? ME!

Let's do some BJ team play.

We as a team, can count 6 decks easily.

I was there in early April and I wanna go again but not in August. No way.

I LIKE the Fremont, despite the smoky casino floor.

Should be able to get 3-4 nights for $100 or less.

If you will be staying downtown at the 4 Queens, the D or the GG,Cal or whatever.....

I have a good cell phone and I can see what's up,this time.

Only 6 months to go,people.

Let's party.

Right around Columbus Day,October 16th. The weather will be NICE.
(My buddy,a postal worker has that week off).

Craps,VP and BJ marathon?

Why would you want to count 6 decks when you can get single and double deck at the El Cortez that pays 3-2? I spent my entire vacation there last week playing and it was great.
FYI,
I was at the El Cortez last Halloween and had a blast, they have a parade that starts down Fremont St.
to the East and ends up at the new Container Park, had a blast there, in the new Container Park they had
a family friendly big area for all to enjoy, for free I had hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn, pop, lots of candy,
cheese and meat trays etc, hot chocolate, finger sandwiches, free mini train rides for the kids etc. bags of
goodies for the kids, I just walked in there to see what was happening as the parade was going by !
Now this would only be happening if you were there at that time.

Halloween would be a GREAT time to go!

The weather is not too hot and the evenings are mild.

There are a LOT of 2 deck BJ downtown,if you can sit down at one.

$3 tables,too.

Haven't been to the Tez in years. My bad.

This forum is fun,but I would like to meet some of the members in person.

A few posters are people that I would like to meet.

That's all.

I'm booked at the MSS for 2 nights on October 13th.
Move to the Fremont from 15,16 and 17.
MSS is comped,Fremont is not.
I hope to see SOMEONE I have met in this forum.
Probably will, but I will not know who you are.
Just look at the craps table with some OG wearing CAMO pants and drinking Coronas without the lime.
How much practice did it take for you to be able to count 6 decks? I can only make it a half a deck before I lose my concentration and lose the count. Can you do it will drinking, too?

HAHA, that's my problem too. I get too busy distracted talking with my neighbor/tipping the cocktail girl/glancing at the freakshow that just walked by..there's just too many distractions in a casino and I'm just there to have fun anyway. Winning is cool but it's not the reason I'm there.

I have only seriously tried counting cards at BJ one time.
I have a nephew who is a single minded mathematical genius. Together we worked out a plan. We would sit separately at a $15, 6 deck, 3-2 table. He would keep the count and relay it to me by his chip stack which he seemed to fidget with constantly. I kept up a friendly banter with the dealer and pit boss and anyone else at the table. I would very my bets according to the count while not being too obvious, or so I thought.

After about 45 minutes or so I was up a couple hundred when the pit boss told me "You know, if you start winning seriously we are going to make you two leave." I just looked at him and laughed and asked "Seriously, is it that obvious" He said they get thousands of people in trying the same thing with varying degrees of skill or lack thereof. I think we fell somewhere in the middle.
Anyway, it was fun to try. Something different and exciting. I wouldn't mind trying it again.
Well, you don't have to have a running count. Counting aces and 5's works OK,too.
The "Signal" is when one of us puts out a larger than usual bet. OR bet 2 hands.
I'll use my fingers or chips to count.
24 each in a 6 deck shoe but the dealer won't go that deep, usually.
Even a 2 deck game,I get mentally tired after a few hours.
The idea is to vary your bet size based on the expectation of what cards are left.

DON'T do flat betting.

If you don't count something, never take Insurance.
Basic strategy and a little counting will reduce the house edge, totally.
Sit next to 3rd or first base,so you can see all of the cards at the end of the "Round".
My brother and I were never "Banned" but after a really good session,we went across the street to another casino and an employee followed us(Reno).
After we sat down, they put in a REALLY fast dealer,so we couldn't count anymore.
True story.
Does counting help keep the game from being boring as hell?
