Our Poor Sugar Bear Is Dying!

Sorry for your loss. My all time favorite dog was my dad's black labrador. He was a puppy dog at heart to the last day on this Earth.
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

........ Author unknown ........

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour;
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life
but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together

Sorry for Your Loss, Rick
BAGIANT -- I am so sorry for Faye's troubles and your loss. I had to put down my two fur babies last year - Duncan and Barnes - and while it broke my heart to do it, I knew it was the right thing to let them go. After awhile, I think you will only remember how much Sugar Bear loved you and how much joy you received in return.
Best,
Kris
Yes, I am very sorry for your loss, too! Our pets are everything to us and it's so hard to lose them. But just remember the good times and Sugar Bear had a long, happy life!

One thing is really strange. Sugar Bear wasn't sick one day in her life. Two of our other dogs, Rascal and Sadie, have contracted Cushings disease which is what their mother, Gypsy, died from. At least we found out that they had Cushings in enough time so they could be medicated on a daily basis, and not die quickly like their mother. Supposedly, this isn't a genetic disease, so we're all puzzled why they also contracted Cushings. At first we were spending about $180 a month to keep it under control, but with some research, we found some generic prescriptions that a pet pharmacy in Phoenix offered. I think the only way we found out those two had Cushings was that we were so shocked over Gypsies death, that Faye demanded that the other dogs be tested......at $200 a pop. We were really surprised when two of them tested positive, but as they say, "prevention is the best cure." So in the last 3.5 years they've both been getting their medication daily to keep them in reasonable good health.
So very sorry for your loss. Sounds like Sugar Bear had a wonderful life, a lotta love from you and Faye.

Hoping the best for Faye.
