Pacemaker and Monorail...Safe?

Thank you all very much for the GREAT responses!!! I had emailed the Las Vegas Monorail people, but I never got a response. I had talked with her doctor about flying, going through security, etc. He told me that she has to show her "pacemaker card" from MedTronic (her device manufacturer) at the airport and that they will do a pat down on her instead of making her go through the security as we non-pacer people have to deal with.

I read that she cannot go to Hoover Dam for a "Dam Tour." *lol* They actually have a sign posted there that says people with pacers are not allowed to go on the tour, or at least not in the elevator all the way down into the depths of the dam. That was good to know as she was kind of wanting to go there too.

Knock wood, she is great with walking, and since she got the device implanted, she is like she was when she was in her 40's as her energy went up greatly. She's still a strapping 65, so not too over the hill.

Again, a big THANKS to all of you, especially clcjim for making that phone call!

6 days until Vegas!!!
Oh, and I thought it was great that in her MedTronic handbook, it specifically says that slot machines are OK! *lol* I guess they figured that people with pacers are still going to go hit the "one-armed bandits" from time to time!

NOTE: The tours should NOT be taken by anyone who suffers from claustrophobia or those with a pacemaker or defibrillators. The tour will be in confined spaces and around generators emitting electromagnetic frequencies.
