Palms Rip-Off

I haven't seen any "regular" hotels charging extra for 2 beds. This must be something new happening in Vegas. You'd think with a slowdown, they they would put all these gimmicks away and pay attention to satisfying the consumer.
I appreciate the commentary that Palms is not alone in this dirtbag move.
To be honest I have been to casino (and non-casino) hotels all through the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, Wendover, Laughlin, AC, Connecticut. All places gave me the choice of King (sometimes Queen) or double beds, or just double beds no choice. Same square footage if there is 1 bed or 2 so what's the justification-an extra 3 cents of detergent to launder the sheets? LOL.
Another low-down sleazebucket move in my opinion on the order of charging a "Resort Fee" for pool access, free parking, free valet, free toilet and sink, free room mirror, free drinks while playing, free room key, free color TV, etc.

Some day, and I hope it's soon, someone will figure out why two beds would cost more than one bed. Until then, can we work on the problem I'm having with my feet? When I walk around, I step on things that hurt my feet. Can anyone propose a solution?

i just booked a room at the travelodge in philadelphia. one king bed was $20 cheaper than two queens. its not just vegas.

Sleep in shifts. You gamble during the day and sleep at night, your buddy gambles all night and sleeps during the day.

OK, I'm thinking this is a clue that will help solve this mystery. It's probably something that happens INSIDE hotel rooms, both in Las Vegas and Philly, and maybe in other cities, too.

The pittance of a price that 2 double beds might cost over one king can't explain extortionate fees in the $15-$20 range day after day after day.
It's funny how every joint in my travels manages to make a profit without charging extra money for the few pennies a night it costs to provide a room with 2 double beds rather than one king.
I guess I've led a charmed life.
Next thing they'll be charging ten bucks a night for TV's and some fools will defend it.
After all some of these fancy HDTV's cost MORE than a lousy double bed!
I am far from the only one pissed off over this scam fee.
It's capitalism. Free market. Don't like it, don't spend your money. Stop whining.
Maybe hotels are tired of 1 person checking into a 2Q room and having 3 others sleep there.
