Police release shooting video of Fremont Experience

From LVRJ

It must have been one scary night for all those people. I frequent that area when I'm there and it has become a zoo with all those people dressed up in costumes aggressively trying to solicit you.
"The suspected shooter, who ran from the scene, is described as a 17- to 22-year-old man, about 5-foot, 8-inches with a medium build and short dark hair."

Hmm? Is there any way to, . . . umm, . . . narrow down the possible suspects, . . . a little?
I agree, and will say so explictly.

Metro's press release describes the suspected shooter's apparent race as black.

He is described as a black male approximately 17 to 22 years of age, approximately 5'8" tall, medium build and short dark hair.

The RJ should have reported that, it's a lot more helpful than a description of the shorts the guy wore two months ago.
Conspiracy theorists keep your powder dry. I don't think for a second that the Review Journal purposely omitted the suspect's race to protect a class of people. I work with media daily and they are flat out understaffed after several rounds of staffing cuts. Sloppy, unthinkable, embarrassing errors sadly are routine.

I agree, it's almost certainly an oversight, and I don't understand why Don Diego's being coy.

But it is a mistake.

DD is right, the librul media and Obama conspired to keep secret the race of the guy on the video. The guy everyone can see. The black guy everyone can see on the video.

This would never happen downtown.

Oops

What about the guy who cold cocked the one dude?? What a pop!!!!

DonDiego thanks Number51 for the comment "DD is right."
However, DonDiego cannot have been right. DonDiego did not state a position; he just asked a question. [see note i., below]

If, indeed, President Barack Obama and the liberal press are conspiring in news reporting, . . . well, DonDiego thanks Number51 for the information.

However, DonDiego's brief research on the subject does not support such an outright conspiracy on this matter.
What it does reveal is that some news outlets, f'rinstance the Newark Star-Ledger, have a policy "to censor race in crime stories." It would seem that Chilcoot and DonDiego agree this would be poor journalistic policy, if it were the LVRJ policy.

note i. Definition: coy, showing reluctance, . . . to reveal one's, . . . opinions, make a commitment, or take a stand.
Sometimes being coy encourages others to reveal their opinions, biases, prejudices more openly and personally than if they were responding to a straightforward objective statement.

I always keep my powder dry.
