A Problem

Drag her to Vegas no matter what! She'll feel better there and will take her mind off of her condition. I know it helped my lady! It's just being there that helps everyone out when they start playing the machines and having nothing but happy times around them!

Sorry to hear that! Are you close to any other casino you guys can go to? I know it's not the same as vegas but it's something!

So BAGIANT walks into a Vegas Bar....
Thank you for all of your kind responses.

The Local casino idea is out of the question. With us its Vegas or nothing. We deceided many years ago that if we were going to lose/win money gambling it would not happen at a local Indian Casino. No free drinks and nothing to see but slot machines takes away all of the fun.

Good news, I might be able to talk her into going to Vegas this Fall. I will let you know what happens.

Why would I make a joke about this? MY GF is in somewhat the same condition. But I must be missing something here. He says he isn't going....yet his wife is looking forward to going there for her 60th birthday. Is that correct?

I know that in Fayes condition it was very hard to travel to Vegas.....or anywhere else. She just looked at it that it might be her last trip there and she was going to do anything possible to make it to Vegas. We rented a scooter for her like we've done the last few times, and with the help of her caregiver who traveled with us, it wasn't that hard to get her into and out of seats at the bar to play VP. Even the previous trip when she couldn't get into a chair, when she couldn't get into a chair the trip before, we just went to the Flare Bar where they have about 4 seats at the end of bar that are lower than the rest of the machines. We just would remove a chair and she'd just pull up there with her scooter and had no trouble playing VP. By the way, it was only on our last trip that I discovered that the Flair Bar was actually spelled FLARE!

I think if she is at all physically capable of going, then you guys should go to Vegas.

BAGIANT,

Not sure about your girl friends condition but it doesn't sound good.

My wife has good and bad days as far as her health condition. She has 50% of Liver function that limits her energy and walking ability. Renting a scooter is an excellent idea that we have contimplated doing in the past. I will let you all know when and if we get back to Vegas.

Thank you for all of your concerns.
Jasper235,

Best wishes to you and your wife. I am sorry that you may not make Vegas this year - I have missed a year here and there, and it just makes the next trip all that more exciting.

My friend has mobility issues, and rents a scooter in advance of her trips, it really works out well for her.

For now, focus on what SHE wants to do, and put the rest aside. Go on line to travel channel and watch some of those old vegas shows. I like watching "flipping vegas" on A & E network, when he drives around in vegas, I feel like I am right there with him.

The name of the company is Las Vegas Scooter Co. They have a toll free number. I'll post it when I can find the number or maybe you can look it up online.

Don't accept whatever rate they give you...you can bargain with them. I think we pay around $80 for about 6 days. Speak to Ernie and tell him you heard about them from Faye Gunter. Faye is looking up the number for you right now. It's 1-702-610-4905. But I know they have a toll free number.

Hope you wind up going to Vegas.

Thanks for the info on Las Vegas Scooter Co - gave it to someone I know.
