R.I.P. Jackie Gaughan

I think I have told this here before...maybe around 1990 my wife and I were staying in a tower room there, might have been the first or second time staying at the ElCo. We were in the elevator one morning coming down from our room and at one floor an elderly man gets on and asks us if we are going to breakfast. We said yes and he handed us two comp tickets. Found out maybe a year later he was Jackie Gaughan. Classy guy, he will surely be missed.
We saw him once at El Cortez last year. He must have been some man. Only heard good things about him.
The last of a dying breed.I was eating dinner in the Flame when I found out about his passing. Was a sad day around the El Cortez. They had a tribute to him on the FSE that evening.I also met him on one of the Tower elevators a year or so ago.He was nice enough to shake hands with me.RIP Jackie.

Ah well, what a life!

He didn't look well in 2009.

RIP Jackie
