These may be a NYC creatures - stickball, punchball & spaldeens

I grew up in NYC. The spaldeens were $.25 and we would go to the local candy store and bounce all the balls to find the livliest one so we didn't waste the quarter!

We played stoop ball and one-wall handball most of the time. Later on I graduated to 'black ball' handball. I was on the handball team at Cardinal Hayes High School and we won the CHSAA city championship in my Junior and Senior years (1964 & 1965). Played some four-wall in college (CCNY)...a very different game.

The best players in NYC played at Coney Island in Brooklyn and Orchard Beach in the Bronx.

I had that Panosonic cassette tape player in an elegant dark blue.

Catherine Bach from Dukes of Hazzard.... + 30 years and several lunches later.

I love watching repeats of the Twiglight Zone. I think Rod Serling proved that you don't need incredible special effects. Good writing and good actors can still make for a good show.
