My only experience with Riviera promos was way back when they used to give $20 free play for slot club signup. It was a ripoff-just like Hooters-because you were limited to free play machines that required a max hit to collect anything. Wait til some of these guys go back to play their reimbursement and it has mysteriously disappeared from the system, or no VP on the playoff, or ....................screw you, sucker!
Participating in this promotion may not be "bad", for those players who have the temperament and self control / discipline to quit if/when ahead, walk out the door, and never return.
The "problem" with doing so is to answer the questions, "If ahead, at what point do I quit?", and "Do I have the control and discipline to quit a winner, if it's a small amount that won't even be enough to tip the CW for a second drink?"
If I was in Vegas, I think I would take my shot, but not for $1K, since they removed the higher denomination machines from the promotion eligibility list. No more "quick big hits" on high denom to take a shot.
Just seems that grinding out $1K FSP to recoup initial losses is not very practical. I'd approach this with a max loss of $100 and realize I'm still gambling on poor pay tables.
