Riviera $1000 Rebate

OK...time for the numbers gurus to chime in.
Does anyone know (for sure!) what are their paytables for JoB. (8/5?, 7/5?, 6/5 ???)
So...depending on that... what does the EV come out to based SOLELY on the 50% loss rebate for the first day.
Gotta think it's STILL a positive play. Yes / No ?????

Wow! That sounds like a heck of a good deal.

If I was asked which strip casino would close this year the Riviera would be top of my list. Huge place so huge overheads. I have never seen a place cutback so much. The players club is run from the cashiers cage, the check in has moved to god knows where and they have cut back on servers so much I actually go to McDonalds for a coffee.

The Banana Leaf restaurant must be "Worst of Las Vegas".It is like Fawlty Towers. The Queen Vic is the only place that the staff seem motivated.

So don't drop $1k there and expect it to be there in one months time.

Three or four years ago, I would have agreed. The old ownership/management had chased away some lucrative convention business, the staff was not in good spirits by any measure, and the casino floor was dead most of the time. The changes made over the last two years with new ownership and management have really turned the place around.

I like the addition of the British pub and the Pat di Nizio buffet and show for $25 is interesting. When we stayed there the batteries were missing from the remote for the TV. When I informed the housekeeper who was outside she replied "Yes I noticed that when I tried to watch TV when cleaning your room."
As I mentioned the Banana Leaf was a zero out of ten and the poker room, which used to be pretty good
ten years ago never has more than one table, with props working.
I hope this offer is as genuine as the one at the Trop. People need a reason to walk beyond the Wynn these days!

If you play a negative EV game, than the EV on the promotion remains negative. There is no way to make this a positive EV situation when playing negative EV machines.

The "benefit" of the promotion is that you get a free shot to win something on a negative expectation game, and a free shot to recoup some (or more) of your losses if you do not quit a winner the first time.

Not true. You have to look at the probability of being ahead on your negative negative game. My only experience with Riviera promos was way back when they used to give $20 free play for slot club signup. It was a ripoff-just like Hooters-because you were limited to free play machines that required a max hit to collect anything. Wait til some of these guys go back to play their reimbursement and it has mysteriously disappeared from the system, or no VP on the playoff, or ....................screw you, sucker!

Participating in this promotion may not be "bad", for those players who have the temperament and self control / discipline to quit if/when ahead, walk out the door, and never return.

The "problem" with doing so is to answer the questions, "If ahead, at what point do I quit?", and "Do I have the control and discipline to quit a winner, if it's a small amount that won't even be enough to tip the CW for a second drink?"

If I was in Vegas, I think I would take my shot, but not for $1K, since they removed the higher denomination machines from the promotion eligibility list. No more "quick big hits" on high denom to take a shot.

Just seems that grinding out $1K FSP to recoup initial losses is not very practical. I'd approach this with a max loss of $100 and realize I'm still gambling on poor pay tables.

::: shrug :::

So I ask once again ....does anyone KNOW what their (best) paytables are for JoB ????
Thank you.

I don't think that really matters anymore. They have changed the rules and VP is no longer an option.

From: Wizard of Odds Slots Forum:

"This promotion has been altered several times now in a short time since it began. (as the fine print says they can). They have eliminated all VP play and limit the rebate to certain 'reel' type slot machines and most higher limit slots machines do not qualify making it more difficult to hit something big and more likely you will grind to a loss.

Initially the promotion was available to new members or members who were inactive for 24 months or longer. They have also now removed that 24 month part and it is only open to new members. "

There's an ongoing discussion over at Wizard of Odds including some nice wins.

JoB is not listed among the "best" at the Riviera according to vpfree. What about BP?

Riviera Best Video Poker Plays
Sure....any VP will do. Just trying to get a "sense" of their paytables. (good, bad, indifferent ?)
