So you think you know more than an Nobel Prize winning Economist (POL)

Plain, simple, old-fashioned, common sense tells us that minimum wage laws discriminate …. (wait) …. in FAVOR of the people receiving the minimum wage!!!!

Exactly whom those same laws discriminate AGAINST is a matter for debate. Undoubtably there is some truth in Friedman's assertions. There is also some truth in the assertion "smoking a cigarette is harmful to your health."
Hey PJ.

If a $10 minimum wage is good, isn't $20, or $40 an hour even better. Of course not! It's all stupid and it'll hurt those looking the hardest for entry level jobs.

Stawmen are easy to knock down, Boiler.

$10 would keep minimum wage in line with its historical level adjusted for inflation....and it would move those workers off nanny state programs like food stamps.

I think employers should pay for their workers to eat instead of the government. Dont you?

The problem with economists is when you line them all in a straight line, they will all point in a different direction.
---- Walter E Williams, PHD
Actually, there were several economists who correctly predicted that deregulating Wall Street would turn out to be bad for the country.

None of them were named Milton Friedman.

Dude, it would totally be better, if we were trying to piss off some shortish people on the other side of the earth. They'd be so jacked if all their $10,000 bills could only buy $2,000 worth of stuff!!

I'm still wondering why a double cheese burger, fries and a drink at Wendy's costs $7.00+.....

So who ends up paying for the pay raise?

We do. Prices will go up and a meal will cost $10. So where's the concern for the poor people that can't afford $10 to spend on a meal from Wendys? If there is no concern, then they can afford to spend that $10 on a state id and use it to vote!

This is really about who you perceive to be on your team, and who you don't. When you start asking the same question about this guy, I'll take you seriously:
