So you think you know more than an Nobel Prize winning Economist (POL)

There is a term for a person whose labor value is less than minimum wage: permanently unemployed. If the minimum wage rises to $10.10 most liberals would be out of a job. I imagine forkush probably got priced out of the labor market back when minimum wage was around $2.

Now for the good stuff. These folks lay the boom on Obama.

In general, the liberal cities and states are more affluent than their conservative brethren.
Nine of the ten states with the highest per-capita income voted for Obama in 2012:
Colorado
Connecticut
Maryland
New Jersey
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
New York
Virginia
Washington
Alaska (the exception, went Romney)

Nine of the ten states with the lowest per-capita income voted for Romney in 2012:
Mississippi
Arkansas
Idaho
West Virginia
Kentucky
Utah
Alabama
South Carolina
Oklahoma
New Mexico (the exception, went Obama)

You'll see similar trends with education. The uneducated states went Romney, the educated states went Obama.

Just because something's true doesn't mean esteskefauver can believe it.

Oh Yes....HATE is alive and well on this final day of January 2014. Classy slam on Forkush there too.

So tell me esteskefauver, what do you have against hard working people making close to a living wage ($10.10 an hour is not quite a living wage, but it's an improvement) and working towards getting themselves off welfare and food stamps ?

Do you HATE when these hard working liberals are given a pay increase from 7.25 to 10.10 an hour?

Do you also HATE the same way when a right wing Richpublican CEO is given a 25 million dollar a year salary ? (let me help you with all the zeros in a 25 million dollar a year salary........$25,000,000.00)

Would you be less HATEful if liberals were given.....say a $1 an hour wage and all ReThuglicans were given a CEO type salary ?

Do you find yourself saying....."Let them eat cake" ?

Just curious Marcisdave, do you give your time and/or money to any non-profit charities?

This is dumb logic even by your standards. The original industrial states of the NE built up a huge advantage after the Civil War, much of which they've squandered and will continue to do so because of liberal policies. The fact that the median income is higher in Democrat states is due to the huge head start plus higher cost of living. I'm sure making $100k and living in a 400 sf apartment in NYC is the greatest, but I think I'll pass. Additionally, most of those states in the top 10 have only fairly recently become so liberal. The most liberal state in the US voted GOP every year but one until 1992. The income gap has nothing to do with liberal government, but nice try.

So who ends up paying for the pay raise?...
This is really about who you perceive to be on your team, and who you don't. When you start asking the same question about this guy, I'll take you seriously:

According to the article you mention, $18.5 mil was in restricted stock. linky, the article does not state what those specific conditions were, however they tend allow the person to start withdrawing a portion after a period of time. Like vesting in an 401k, but much shorter. The board, DOES have the right to recind/reduce the stock based upon certain criteria in most cases.

Later on in the article it mentions Dimon had his pay reduced.

"From the board’s point of view, it had already punished Mr. Dimon when most of the misconduct surfaced. In 2009, it gave him no bonus for 2008. And last year, after big trading losses in what is known as the “London whale” episode, his bonus was cut in half, to $10 million. Much of the misconduct had happened at Bear Stearns and Washington Mutual before JPMorgan acquired them. It did not seem fair to punish Mr. Dimon again for the same behavior. “At some point you have to move on,” one participant said."

I take it you haven't sorted through the SEC compensation papers for officers at publically traded companies much. Most companies drop compensation in stock and equivalents instead of cash. Btw, $20 mil bonus for a company that had $112 bil in credit card sales is rather modest in compensation.
Per capita income is only one measure of standard of living. I can buy a beer in my hometown all day long for $3, and one or two bucks some days. I used to date a lady in Manhattan about ten years ago, and a Bud was $10 at most local pubs. At clubs they were more.

It's funny the top 10 states to live (i.e. Quality of life) look more Red than Blue.

Maybe somehow high taxes detract from quality of life?
