Southpoint help

I used to think so too, for the pastrami, and I've made special trips.

But the last couple years the pastrami's been mediocre at best, not unlike what they (probably) slice at a Wal-Mart deli counter. Maybe they do other things well, but the pastrami's not too good.
1. Although they have more 99%+ VP than anyone, they do have some sub-par pay schedules; for example 8/5 JoB last time I checked. So you need to pay attention.

2. It's almost a sure thing that Labor Day will offer double points on VP, and after doubling, the free play or cash back will be 0.6, so it can make a difference.

3. It's NSU heaven. Between the single and multi-hand games, your five-coin wager can range from $0.25 to $25 (at least), so almost anyone can find a comfort zone. And with a 0.3 slot club, NSU is (very slightly) over 100% 24/7.

4. Although the locals like to refer to it as "Hender-tucky," think of the surrounding Henderson as more like a southern outpost of Salt Lake City. There's nothing to do there, so stay at the hotel.

5. If you hit a royal, eat at Michael's.
Can't speak to the South Point, but congratulations on such an amazing milestone. I hope the two of you have a wonderful anniversary. k
SP also has a very nice spa. If you are staying at the hotel the cost of s three day pass is around $60. Well worth it. Great place to relax. Spa tub, steam room, waterfall massage, sauna and relaxation room.
You may also want to try a couples massage.

I've always enjoyed visiting South Point, even though they no longer have 100%+ video poker machines. It's a big airy place that's relatively easy to navigate (the casino is basically one big room) with the usual non-gaming diversions such as a movie theater, spa, bowling alley, and video arcade. One not-so-usual offering is their equestrian center where they have horse competitions on a regular basis if that's your thing.

Besides the restaurants mentioned by previous posters, I truly enjoy the Steak N Shake, the only such outlet in this half of the United States as far as I know. And it's the only casino I've seen in Vegas that has a slot machine based on a video game (Plants vs. Zombies) which I always thought was a big no-no because of the children factor.
I've stayed there a couple times in the last 2 years, will be staying there again this October. I've done all the crap on the strip, and I like being at SP for the good VP, food, bowling, movies, etc.

I can't add much to what everyone else said. The Mexican joint is actually pretty good as far as americanized Mexican food goes. They bring you a free trifecta of bean dip, fresh guac, and salsa as soon as you sit down. That's worth it right there.

Congratulations on your milestone. Blessings to you both.

If you like classic rock, one of the best bands in Vegas, Yellow Brick Road, plays at Southpoint every Friday. There is a $5 cover charge. They put on a great show.

Oh poop! I have trouble navigating this site. Meant to reply about the Mexican place. The highlight at lunch for us was getting the chips and dips! Yummy! You can get the same thing at the bar just outside at the bar. Do it!
The Oyster Bar is the best in the city, and I eat lots of fishy stuff.
