Yep, support corporate greed over decent wages and working conditions, right estes? Especially since those pesky Las Vegas unions represent workers of all colors from across the US and the world. Life is tough these days for angry old tea-baggers, isn't it?

The only anger I see is coming from the frustrated union members who decide to sit down in the street when things don't go there way. I see anger coming from you too. When the epithets come out you know a person is angry. There was a guy that used to post on here named indianapaddler that sounds a lot like you...hmmm. Try not to go full-bore racist like he did when his anger reached the tipping point.

That's a good point. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Indianapaddler = Melonhead. While I won't declare that all of the Unions are bad, I am delighted to be in a working environment where they are completely unnecessary. Some of the more idiotic members are amusing when they are being interviewed during a strike.

Sorry boys, never heard of Indianpaddler, and you must be smoking some seriously good stuff to read anger into my posts. Fact is, everybody can see from your posts that you, estes and the doc are the resident angry old men on this board. You're obviously pissed off that workers in Las Vegas would dare to organize in order to improve their working conditions and wages. That's fine with me, you guys entertain us on a daily basis with your hate of all things "liberal."
Melonhead--------you can't argue with Sarah Palin. You can't argue with Dan Quayle, and you can't argue with these people. That's why I've vowed that they can run their mouth all they want to, and I will no longer let it get under my skin. I come here looking for info on Vegas, and people like drmilled turn everything into a sarcastic political battle on pretty much all the threads. I will no longer throw any sarcastic or venomous remarks in their direction. I will no longer reduce myself to their level. It's like arguing with your dog. I am able to admit that there's alot to be said for reducing some government and maybe even that political correctness has gotten somewhat out of hand, as well as that there is something to be said for a man pulling himself up by the bootstraps and working hard in lieu of living off of handouts. There are alot of concessions I can make. They can make absolutely none. They are 100% right and we are 100% wrong in their eyes, and we will never change that. This is why I'm through spewing venom and letting things get under my skin. From now on, for me, it's PEACE & LOVE. No more anger. There's absolutely no point in it.
jokermgb and melonhead- As you continue to age you will get the answers to what really is real and what you presently think to be real. We "angry old men" who utilize "sarcasm" as a tool to illustrate reality do so because, as you will learn, all is not as it seems. For me, sarcasm is my way of saying "bullshit". Listening to and considering what others who have lived reality longer than you might not be what you want to hear. That is your choice, but also is your loss. I would love want to hear your take on things as time progresses and you discover who really knew what they were talking about and who you find to be liars. Good luck to both of you.
Doc. I don't know your age, but I will turn 60 this year. Wisdom has little to do with it. It has much to do with how we are raised, our life experiences, and many other factors. There are smart conservatives, stupid conservatives, smart liberals, stupid liberals, young conservatives, old conservatives, etc. etc. I have many friends who are on the opposite end of my political beliefs, and I like them all. I just don't talk politics with them. And if I were to meet you, I might like you alot. That's why I'm through with the venom and the bashing. Life is too short. It's just not worth it. Every time I get on here and say something, I am always wishing the next day that I had kept my mouth shut, because I'm not a bad person, and I realize that is how I have come across. Peace.

Well lookee here from today's Mexifornia update-the city of Stockton, over 300,000, is now BANKRUPT.

Sky high taxes and regulation, rampant cronyism and corruption, insane compensation to government workers, the most bloated welfare system in the hemisphere and a warm embrace for all illegal aliens and anchor babies.
Seemed like a surefire recipe for success to me!

Stay stupid-keep voting Democrat.

Wow - have we landed in George Orwell's world? Hatred is now "sarcasm?" Keep on thinking you live in "reality" doc.....

The cosmo just reported a $100m+ loss for the just completed fiscal year. No incentive to negotiate with a union
I would think that as long as this place is losing money every year, employees should be happy to have a job. Frustrating the company you work for plus a large amount of traffic on Las Vegas Boulveard to get a raise when your boss is in the hole all the time is not a move I applaud.

In other words: these employees should suck it up as long as Cosmo isn't making any profit and until the economy is "up and running" again. OR they should quit and find happiness somewhere else (maybe in the unemployment line). Harsh? Maybe. But be realistic when the economy is in the tank.
