And you missed the point; Maher wasn't talking about the Robertsons so much as he was about their dimwits followers. The apt phrase here is "useful idiots," and Duck Dynasty has them, and the Republican Party has them. I doubt that anyone as sharp as Phil Robertson has any respect whatsoever for his own fans.
