SW airline pts query

We've never used points for our rewards and I'm gonna use some for a trip to Fla. My question is what's the difference between "wanna get away" points(which is much less) and anytime points? I have specific dates we need to go. TIA

JOHN

and yea I've looked, I know I'll get an answer here quicker.
They have a great system, I have used it many times. Just use the rate calender, push on the points not money and you will get all 3 prices. SWA is by far my favorite airline.
The points are based on the dollar cost of the flight. Wanna get away fares are cheaper dollar wise. therefore, you need less points.
Sorry, I guess I should've been more specific. I'm past the dolar vs points and have three choices for points, business, anytime and get away points. There's a big difference and I'm wondering if there's some insane restriction on using the get away points(name of first born already promised). I can't find any and jes' thought I'd ask here. THX.

If you click on each of the types of fares, it will tell you what's included in the fare (ie: points, drinks, boarding, etc.). We always book the wanna get away fares and have never had a problem rebooking them if the point value drops. They'll just credit the difference back to your account.
Not to be a smartasz, but if you call Southwest they can answer all of your questions. Works for me.
take the cheapest flight unless you do not like money?
Just book the Wanna Get Away points fare.

The ANYTIME fares are a total waste of points. (and money, if you were booking with cash)

Business fares have no advantage when using points, unless you want to be one of the first to board.

FYI, you can still pay $12.50 for early bird check in on a points reward ticket . . . if your flight is longer than 2 hours, I recommend this.
Thanks everyone, it's what I wanted to know.

I'll tell you one thing about SWA. My dog sitter is going back to Chicago and I told him that I would get him his seat reservation. His flight was leaving at 7:50 pm on the 25th. I had pulled up the SWA website and put in his reservation number and name, fully prepared to hit "SUBMIT" when the clock struck 7:50 pm. So time is getting close, and I go to their website and start looking at the clock on my cable box and it says it's 7:49. The second it hits 7:50, I hit the "SUBMIT" button. Low and behold, I get number B-3. WTF? How could I possibly NOT get an "A" number? My friend said it's because they now have PRIORITY seating for $12 extra. Is that really the case? Would you really pay 12 bucks to get an A number?
