teechur and DonDiego visit the Deep South

DonDiego enjoying a Good People Brown Ale well below the Mason-Dixon Line.

DonDiego swigging an Abita Andygator in The Crescent City.

DonDiego quaffing a Gordon Biersch Schwarzbier along with 5 other samplers in The Big Easy.

DonDiego guzzling an Abita Amber in The City That Care Forgot.

Oh, . . . and there were cemeteries.

And there was an NFL game in the Superdome.

And on the way home teechur and DonDiego visited some casinos along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. One small joint in particular was quite pleasant. The visit was midday on a weekday, so the place wasn't particularly crowded, . . . just enough folks to make it interesting.
They offered very player-friendly low-limit blackjack, and lots of players who knew nothing of proper strategy. And a long bank of 9/6 Jacks-or-Better Game King machines. DonDiego managed to make a small withdrawal.
Although teechur and DonDiego didn't dine there, there was a neat restaurant with an outdoor shaded patio overlooking Biloxi Bay.
Anyway, the place is Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville Casino. DonDiego recommends it highly.

Nice vest!

How are they doing down in red state world? Dealing with it, or lynch mob mentality?
teechur thanks DonDiego for briefly mentioning her a couple of times in an off-hand manner in his outstandingly detailed trip report. . . . . .

btw...the cemetery DonDiego is standing in front of is "St. Louis Cemetery No. 1" (in New Orleans) which was across the street from The Commander's Palace (an award-winning 4-diamond restaurant) where we had a lunch reservation (which is why DonDiego is all "duded-up" in the photo).

Another interesting thing we did on our trip, was visit the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. It was very interesting and the hour-long movie narrated by Tom Hanks was very good. Anyone with an interest in America's past would enjoy this visit...we certainly did.

Ah yes. Nothing beats beers and cemeteries.

If one didn't know better and didn't take a closer look at this shot, they might think that Don Diego is sporting a pony tail. Yes, a blonde pony tail, but still a pony tail.
DD sporting a mullet? Sounds right.

That's how you blend in the deep South. Tell them teechur is your sister, toss the tooth brush, promise more lynchings, run for Mayor, make a difference.

No, but really the South is beautiful. In an ass backwards kind of way. If you're the right color.
HAHA, I noticed the "ponytail" also, had to do a double-take.

What a racist remark! I hope you are proud.

I am glad to see DonDiego enjoying good beer in the South as they seem to be a little short in the north east.

Yesterday I saw a truckload of Great Lakes Christmas Ale headed east on I-90. Help is on the way!

No shit, i missed that somehow, "the south is beautiful but in a ass backwards kinda way" Just WHAT TH FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN? I thought I'd seen some pretty messed up posts before, but that one really hits it outta the park. Funny how liberal yanks bust on the south and they probably have about zero knowledge of true southerners and what fantastic folk they can be and are. More heart than any other people in the world. But I suppose ignorance must be true bliss, sigh.
