Thanksgiving in Vegas and November questions.

Back in the day, people from the LA area would eat their TG dinner and then head for Vegas. Same thing with XMAS. They'd open the presents and hit the I-15 for a Vegas Holiday! I remember the days that Vegas would give rooms away on Thanksgiving. Matter of fact, I think my first comps came at the Riviera on Thanksgiving. Place was dead as a doornail. But not any longer.
Spent a few T-givings in Vegas. The locals pack the buffets on Thanksgiving and half of California drives in for the long weekend. Book your flight early.
Spend every Thanksgiving in Vegas. Usually low 60's during the day, 40's at night. Starts pretty empty and the crowds come in Thursday evening/Friday. Buffets are crazy busy, nice restaurants require reservations, coffee shops are the only thing open after 9. It is a good week to go.
Thanks for the advise on the reservations for Thanksgiving. Will make a point of doing that.

Blade good Idea...I'll get our air soon

If Vegas at thanksgiving is anything like Christmas was las year the restaurants were packed. I was told Christmas is slow. Um no lots of family's with little kids. Lines were horrendous. Craziness. Hope that doesn't happen to you.
Yeah! XMAS and Thnksgiving are a whole new ball of wax these days!

I don't think you EVER need a heavy coat in Vegas. In all my years of going there, I've seen snow twice, but not in measurable amounts at all. Very rarely gets into the 30's, and when it does, I guess because of the dry humidity, it never feels that cold.

This is 100% true for non-locals and anyone from Upper North/Northeast. My first year living in Vegas I never even wore a sweater--my coworkers thought I was crazy. By my fifth year here, I was wearing light sweaters in the fall/winter. After ten years, I am now a local and I do feel "cold" in the winter. That's when I put on my flannel shirt. Hahaha.

The fur parkas and North Face jackets are only needed if you go up to Mt. Charleston in the fall or if you were born somewhere tropical like....Manila or Thailand.

Linda in TX...maybe we can meet up.
Hubby and I usually go May or Sept. So this will be our first winter month.

We'll be going earlier in the month, but would love to do Thanksgiving one year. Have a great birthday!
