Umm, . . . yes, . . . "losing grandfather status" does mean it ceases to exist, because it does not meet the requirements of Obamacare plans.
The new plans will be different. It may be more or less expensive; so far, the group plans which were replaced saw higher rates on the new plans, especially for middle-class and more well off folks. This is to be expected when additional coverages, like maternity care for 60-year-olds, and insurance of those with pre-existing conditions are among the Obamacare requirements.
