Is it too early to plan a party?

DonDiego, we all know what scares you about him. [President Obama]

DonDiego wonders, . . . what is it about President Obama that scares DonDiego, that everybody knows? DonDiego requests elaboration.

BARACK OBAMALAND
[sung to the melody of Winter Wonderland by Felix Bernard and Richard B. Smith (1934)]

"Democrats, are you listening ?
Past your graves, you are whistling
A terrible fright and horrible plight
Living in Barack ObamaLand.

Gone away is our health care
Here to stay is “BarackCare”
You blunder along, no matter how wrong
Promoting Barack ObamaCare

On the website they may offer health care
And pretend that it will really work!
But we can’t keep our doctor or insurance
If you said so you must really be a jerk!

Later on, he’ll retire
When his term does expire
He’ll laugh unafraid at the mess that he’s made
Designing Barack ObamaCare

The leftist media they have forged his image
And pretend that he is really wise
They ask: Don’t you love him? We say NO MAN!
He’s just another commie in disguise.

When it fails, you’ll keep lying
blame George Bush with you’re crying
You’ll posture and bray, the “Democrat” way
That’s living in Barack ObamaLand.

Yeah we’re living in Barack…
Yeah we’re living in Barack…
We’re living in Barack ObamaLand."

marcisdave overestimates DonDiego's capacity for hate. He finds the incompetent President more an object for ridicule than hate. And pr'bly pity once his Presidency is concluded and his handlers find little use for him.

It's half-time.
And, DonDiego is ingesting a Founders Breakfast Stout out of Grand Rapids, Michigan which he purchased in Indianapolis after the Titans/Colts game a few weeks ago. It is a Double Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal Stout; this means it is a strong flavored brew with an alcohol content of 8.3% and an IBU of 60 - both a mite higher than DonDiego prefers. But no popcorn, . . . just a few slices of pizza.
Thanks for asking !

Oh, . . . the game is going pretty well too!

Obamacare Sticker Shock Ahead in the New Year

Increasingly, experts in health insurance are becoming concerned that many of these first-time buyers will be in for a shock when they get medical care next year and discover they're on the hook for most of the initial cost.

The prospect of sticker shock after Jan. 1, when those who sign up for policies now can begin getting coverage, is seen as a looming problem for a new national system that has been plagued by trouble since the new marketplaces went online in the states in October.

Hospitals are worried that those who rack up uncovered medical bills next year won't be able to pay them, perpetuating one of the problems the new health care system is supposed to solve.

A Democrat hits the panic button:
Democratic senator says Obamacare could have meltdown

President Barack Obama's healthcare law could have a "meltdown" and make it difficult for his Democratic Party to keep control of the U.S. Senate next year if ongoing problems with the program are not resolved, a Democratic senator said on Sunday.

The Hidden Impact of Obamacare and the Economy

Obamacare has delivered another sucker punch to the middle class. This time it’s sticker shock.

Now that a few people can get past the tech problems of HealthCare.gov and actually see the real cost of insurance plans available, they are finding that Affordable Care is big hit to the family budget. And when the family budget gets hit in the solar plexus, guess what happens to consumer spending and the economy.

Obamacare Sticker Shock Ahead in the New Year...
Let's just choose the first "victim from your first link, Ms. Matzen, who has pre-existing asthma AND a thyroid condition. Here is just one of the 39 choices healthcare.gov offers her:

That's a $150 deductible for someone suffering from asthma and a thyroid condition. And 20% after that, up to another $1700. And $10 for generic prescriptions. Then nada.

Okay, your turn. What can she get on the private non-Obamacare insurance market? Or should she go uninsured, making her 30% more likely to die if she goes to the hospital for a serious condition, you know, for something like asthma or a thyroid condition?
Another softball.
You paint the rosiest scenario possible. You don't know if she is married or has kids which would greatly impact those numbers. Furthermore when you developed premiums for her you assumed she would qualify for a premium subsidy. To further rig the numbers you chose a silver plan with theoretical cost sharing on the coinsurance and deductible numbers. We know that cost sharing isn't fully funded so chances are if you're so unfortunate as to get sick several months into any given year the government may have ran out of cost sharing money and you will get a reduced share or might not get any. So those deductibles and co-pays are inaccurate because the real numbers are unknown. You also simply assumed she lived in Chicago. A few things can be gleamed from her public LinkedIn profile.

1. One of her many employers may offer her coverage meaning she wouldn't qualify for a subsidy even if the employer offered coverage wasn't affordable.
2. Her prior employment indicates she worked in London for ten years and that she was educated at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art meaning she might not even be citizen. Which presents numerous disqualifying aspects even assuming she is here legally.
3. She lists Greater Chicago twice when talking about where the employers she works for are located indicating she likely doesn't live in Chicago itself. She could live in one of many counties surrounding Chicago including those in Indiana and Wisconsin. In other words even if your assumptions are all correct in the rosy scenario you painted because she probably doesn't live in Chicago itself your numbers are incorrect.

Finally, we don't know if the prescription drugs she takes for the two conditions mentioned would be covered under that particular plan's formulary.

First, someone who announces "I win!" or similar at the start of a post...usually isn't winning. People confident in their arguments lead it up to readers to make judgments based on the evidence, not on empty pronouncements. You never used to do such things.

And yeah, I assumed a young Chicago actress who makes less than $20,000 per year actually lives in Chicago and makes less than $20,000 a year. And get this - I even assumed she was an American!

Of course maybe YOUR link was very misleading. You seem to think so.
