Agree and let us not forget the brilliant group that put them there.

Two years ago today, Elena Kagan was the first woman named to the U.S. Supreme Court. We have come a long way as a country since the days that women were supposed to be pregnant and barefoot and gays were not allowed to vote.

WTF???

You're about 3 decades late on the whole first woman in the Supreme Court thing. And when the hell were gays not allowed to vote?

Seriously, such a statement is embarrassing. This kind of ignorance is one of the reasons why men were able to keep women at home barefoot and pregnant for as long as they did.

The Connecticut legislature votes to confirm members of the United States Supreme Court??? Who knew?

Unfortunately it is not all that common in our leadership these days.

DonDiego is suspicious of this post.
There was also Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

. . . and how would a registrar know someone is gay?

Oh, they know.

Right. And I have heard that Big Brother Government monitors our credit card purchase and can see what a citizen purchases at department and grocery stores and if they have frequented gay bars, that kind of thing. It all gets passed along to various branches of government, including county and city elections. Scary stuff, if you ask me. Not that I am lesbian.

PS: Nesalk, mind your own beeswax.
