Who is Steven Goddard? Is that even his real name?

It snowed early this morning in NJ. Crazy weather we're having.
A most difficult question.

1. The web page entitled About Me purporting to offer biographical information about this mystery man has apparently been captured by Chinese Communists.

2. "Mr. Goddard" has previously acknowledged that Steven Goddard is a pseudonym.

3. DonDiego trusts snidely333 remains safe from the chill.

1. How does poor old DonDiego know it was communists that captured the webpage? Maybe it was freedom-loving patriots that want to implicate the Chinese in their divisive plan. The world can be a confusing place. "Husband, I was rude" (as translated from the Mandarin) is a well known code amongst patriots. It's analogous to a gang sign.

2. So basically, he's just some guy/gal on the Internet.

3. Seeing the bright sunshine as I left the house this morning, the thought of needing a jacket displeased me. Luckily I was able to avail myself of the emergency outerwear stored in my automobile and successfully staved off the chill. Poor old DonDiego's concern is much appreciated.

Dude, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a governmental agency. Has it occurred to you that when you take your prescribed medicine, you could be SWALLOWING LIBERAL LIES?

Just think about it, okay?

I agree with Motownbob.

I'll be dammed if I would trust the FDA.

How's that for tolerance?

This thread doesn't betray much understanding of what the word "tolerance" actually means.

The above, for instance.

I deal with FDA. They seem trustworthy enough. I was talking to a senior guy at FDA years ago. He said FDA gets a lot of hate mail.

Lots of folks complaining that FDA has not approved drugs that are potentially life saving and in use in other countries so why not in the USA. Why wasn't the FDA doing their job and approving these treatments.

Lots of other folks complaining that the drug they or a loved one took had harmful side effects. Why wasn't the FDA doing their job and protecting the American people from bad drugs.

The FDA guy said that as long as the hate mail runs 50/50, he figures FDA is doing a good job.
I threw a guy out of my apartment for making racist comments. I'm intolerant that way.

That sums up this thread nicely.

Hmmm, I can't say I agree with you entirely there snidely. My wife is close to the business also and there's a all kinds of shit that's allowed in our food here that's banned in other countries. There's a decent sized list of additives that the FDA turns its back on becasue of big, powerful(and generous) corps like Monsanto and Procter and Gamble.

As an aside and unrelated but only for gross-out purposes(don't look if you don't know and don't wanna know)....the following are allowed tolerances for food packaging.

Product Type of insect contamination Action Level
Canned sweet corn Insect larvae (corn ear worms or corn borers) 2 or more 3 mm or longer larvae, cast skins, larval or cast skin fragments, the aggregate length of insects or insect parts exceeds 12 mm in 24 pounds
Canned citrus fruit juices Insects and insect eggs 5 or more Drosophila and other fly eggs per 250 ml or 1 or more maggots per 250 ml
Canned apricots Insect filth Average of 2% or more by count has been damaged or infected by insects
Chocolate and chocolate liquor Insect filth Average is 60 or more insect fragments per 100 grams (when 6 100 g subsamples are examined)
Peanut butter Insect filth Average of 30 or more insect fragments per 100 grams
Wheat flour Insect filth Average of 150 or more insect fragments per 100 grams
Frozen broccoli Insects and mites Average of 60 or more aphids and/or thrips and/or mites per 100 grams
Hops Insects Average of more than 2,500 aphids per 10 grams
Ground thyme Insect filth Average of 925 or more insect fragments per 10 grams
Ground nutmeg Insect filth Average of 100 or more insect fragments per 10 grams
Ground cinnamon Insect filth Average of 400 or more insect fragments per 50 grams[3]

I only deal with the drug part of Food and Drug. However, you'd have the farmers howling if the FDA tightened down the food contamination levels.

That's a lot of bug pieces in 50g of ground cinnamon. I'll try to not think about it.

Drugs are a lot purer than that.
