Top 5 Downtown Restaurants

Flame steakhouse at El Cortez.Triple 7 Brew Pub At Main Street Station. Also think the best buffet downtown is at Main Street Station.Price wise and quality.
I've always enjoyed 777 Brewpub, but last Labor Day our food was terrible. 3 meals plus appetizers all worse than bad.

Vic and Anthony's.- Probably my "best" for Downtown. Great steaks and really good wine list. The Sommelier even has a few really nice bottles that are not listed.
Eat.- A block off of Fremont. Best breakfast place in all of Vegas.
Binion's steak house.- More affordable. Can't beat the view, downtown anyway.
Red sushi.- Best sushi downtown. would be in the running city wide. Well, in the top 20 city wide anyway.
Dupar's.- Best shrimp cocktail sauce I've ever had, still. I know there are a couple of better diners but it breaks my top 5 because of tradition and that sauce.

Honorable mentions.- The Flame, Hugo's, Le Thai

There are some others that I think are worth mentioning.
Good thread.

Thanks for the replies. I wish my trip was going to be longer so I could try all of these. I will be dining solo. Would that make a difference at the higher end places? Do they frown upon solo diners
Johnny, that's not a problem at all. Vegas restaurants, in particular, expect solo diners. You won't feel out of place at any of those restaurants, but Hugo's has the most romantic atmosphere, such as a rose for lady diners. Complimentary chocolate dipped fruit, those kinds of touches. But staff will be great to you.
From what I remember, the California has a steakhouse that is pretty good and always seems to have a great special on steaks. They used to have a great special on porterhouse for an unbelievable price.
Yes the Redwood Grill at California's has that $24 Porterhouse special and it is great.

Also the Second Street Grill at the Fremont has a a T Bone special for $23

Both nice meals and good values!
I second Blonde's vote for the Redwood Grill at the California. It's by no means a upper end steakhouse, but they will serve you a solid meal an outstanding value, especially on the porterhouse.

Thank you all for the awesome answers. I like to plan all my meals..or at least where I want to dine, before every Vegas trip. usually make it to most of the places I plan on.
