Treasure Island sinks Pirate Show

Treasure Island has shut down its free Pirate show in front of the hotel for good.
"Sirens of TI" lasted 10 years , and was performed 4 times a night.
I thought the original show "Battle of Buccaneer Bay"which started back in 1993 was better then the second one, and there are girls running around topless in Vegas, so bikini Pirate girls were nothing new.

I am sure they will add stores, or another bar in front to make more money. I think the pic pocket people
will miss the extra cash, and plastic, as Vegas continues to move their entrances closer to the sidewalks.

You know, that was their main draw or theme to get people to immediatly recognize this
property, first it was the big Skull and Crossbones, then that went bye bye, now the newer
TI show is done. What will be their drawing card to relate to a Treasure Is. concept ?

Sad news!!! Newbies coming to Vegas will surely miss out. The tropicana used to have an indoor aerial show that's also long gone. Next will be the volcano and (Gasp) the dancing waters. Come on casino's - give the people something free to enjoy, it's not all about the stores. Most of us cannot lug the darn stuff home on the planes anyway.

DonDiego always thought the "Treasure Island"/"Pirate" theme was perfect for Las Vegas, . . . a mixture of skullduggery and mystery and danger and tropical pleasures and the promise of gold and riches and booty. And the original pirate show was the best, . . . and the hotel carried out the tropical pirate theme with panache.

As the earlier posters report, . . . little by little, . . . and it's all gone.

Without treasure, . . . it's just a desert island:

You missed it. It's no longer Treasure Island, it's now the T.I.

Doesn't that stand for Treasure Island ?
