Treasure Island sinks Pirate Show

I liked the original show, as well. I don't think we need more shops either.

TI now stands for Totally Inane! k
I have the DVD of the show, I watch it once in a while to get a Vegas fix
The Pirate show was an expense, while retails shops will bring in revenue; although many people would go into the casino after the show.

With the overabundance of shops in Vegas selling overpriced merchandise, I don't think it will be as abig a draw as the show

I don't shop while in Vegas. Even here in Alaska I can find things cheaper and without sales tax. I did however try to catch the Sirens show at least once per trip and then go in and drop a bill or 2 as I waited for the crowd to dissipate. My guess is since TI hasnt been an MGM property for awhile I'll have no business spending any of my money there now. I here rumor (I cannot remember where from) that Mystere's future there may be short lived as well.

A-fricken-men, Vegas needs more overpriced shops like it needs a few more porn slappers

I attended a private party a couple years ago at the Christian Audigier nightclub that had a large open patio seating area on the hotel side of the little lake that was home to the pirate and sirens shows. The lake show was dark that particular night. I thought the patio area was a very cool place to dine and drink at night, without the show on the lake.
As others have said, it's just another "only in Vegas" attraction that has gone by the wayside, like Luxor de-theming a pyramid (still have no clue how they expected to do that)...

I read an interview w/ Steve Wynn a few years back that said if he had to do it over again, he would have never put the Fountains at Bellagio. A shame that the mentality now is that if every square inch of the property doesn't make money for corporate, it needs to be done away with...

Sad.

Really? That's surprising, I think that'll be remembered as among the best things ever built in Las Vegas, I think it classed up the town's image.

Maybe he just didn't like footing the bill (like he and the ex don't have enough money).
Agreed, it's one of the great man-made attractions in the world.

I think Wynn can be a bit off his rocker at times. He's a difficult interview,as I understand it, so maybe he was just pissed at the reporter and was just saying ridiculously outrageous things...

Pure speculation on my part.
