I think the previous poster has written here about being on disability for many years.

...and that has what to do with fraud in the system?

It reminds me of the lottery winner in Michigan that was collecting food stamps.

There's 2 ways to deal with these kinds of issues.
1) create more oversight and penalties for those who abuse the system.
2) make accross the board cuts in funding for the programs which hurts everyone using them...even the old lady with Parkinson's disease.

I prefer #1....how about you?

It also reminds me of the republican congressman from Tennessee that's collecting government aid for his farm.

Are you implying that he somehow does not qualify? Or he forged applications to Qualify? Or because he is a rich Republican he should not be able to collect government aid? If so, can rich Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein be eligible for government aid?

I'm just trying to understand your criteria.

My criteria is you should not be collecting disability if you are able to work.

My criteria is that you shouldn't be collecting aid if you're wealthy or able to work. No, Pelosi or Feinstein cannot collect aid.

Huh. Well if someone's gettin' a disability check in my name I need the whistleblower # 'cause I don't receive anything other than medicaid and that's not based on need but because that's how it is. My insurance is still the same as it was the day of my accident and is now my secondary.

So typical..[shrug]

Fair enough, my mistake, apologies, I really did recall you writing about needing all kinds of help including disability payments as a result of your injuries, but I must've remembered wrong.

And my criteria is you should not be collecting aid if you have a part time job that earns a six figure salary.Especially when your on the commitee cutting foodstamps to poor people.

Cutting food stamps to poor people your say ---- however do you really think all people collecting food stamps, and disability, and Obama phones are REALLY poor? If so, you are naïve and the story I posted in this topic is just one example. I expect there are many more.

So, how does one solve the problem or ever growing government programs with increasing fraud and waste:

1) Hire more of your cronies to government unionized jobs to "police" the system - how that workin'?

2) Take the incentive out of collecting aid - if it is just enough for those truly in need to get a hand up then the able bodied would be less incentivized to take advantage of the system.

Number 2 for me please!
