underage gambler?

What will a casino do if somebodys playing whos not old enough, says left there wallet inthe room? Just tell em to move along?or get pretty snippy about it? My son looks older than his years and im pretty sure hell give it a go while hes cruising around, cant say i relly couldnt blame hime, imquite certain i would.

So is this a major no no or do they turn there cheek a bit if someones playing a few slots.

J
Umm, . . . it is a major no-no. They will get snippy about it.

If he is at a table, he'll likely be carded; he may be carded if he's just in the casino.

He might get away with playing the slots some, . . but if he were to win big, the casino would not give him the winnings. It is against Nevada State Law for the casino to pay an underage winner.

If the Gaming Commission Of Nevada Agents find an underage person gambling, the Commission will fine that gambling establishment heavily.
The fines for a single offense can be in the hundreds-of-thousands-of-dollars.

Some years ago, when Harrah's was still dealing decent blackjack games DonDiego was playing near a table where a young fellow had not been carded, and the on-site gaming agent asked to see his ID. He was underage.
The game was stopped immediately. The dealer was immediately removed and cited for not carding the kid. The pit-boss was also removed. DonDiego doesn't remember the details, but one person was fired and another received a suspension. The dealers and pit-critters spread the story like wildfire through every pit in the casino.

So, an underage gambler can not only cause himself grief, but he can get casino employees in serious trouble.
He would be denied a hand pay without I.D.
You are wrong to encourage him to gamble. He is not 21, both you and he know that. Do the right thing.

Oh I know he would be denied a hand pay for sure and I know gaming officials would be none to keen on it.

I guess what I'm asking is would they actually detain him until he could prove who he was? I thought I had just read somewhere very recently on the subject and the answer was what has already been mentioned but went on to say they'd pretty much tell 'em to move along.
Not condoning the matter, just being inquisitive.

BTW DrM, don't encourage him to gamble? I taught 'em how to play BJ and poker when he was a kid, used to play for pennys. He's always had a really good head on his shoulders and has always been mature beyond his years, he's actually more mature than many adults I've known. I don't EVEN want to hear your condescending little "do the right thing" bullsh!t statement
BTW, I said to do the right thing and not let him gamble in a casino, as per your original question. Just because you stated that you would probably gamble, you should know better than encourage him to gamble while he is underage. If you don't like my response, then don't ask a stupid question that you already knew the answer to.
They will tell him to move along if he's lingering in the casino too long. They will get snippy if he's parked at a machine or shooting dice or playing 21.
Just modify his ID to say "Nick Papageorgio". He'll be allright.
I worked as a dealer for over 6 years. I amazes me on how causal people will fuck with the dealers job as if no big deal if they lose it over bullshit. between newbies, degenerates, lowlife scumbag cheaters and the professonal cheats it never ends. And you wonder how come dealers are not polite.
Just Imagine, you have family, house, maybe a kid in college and you have just as I have seen people that know that can't play by law, and of course the parents are right there and don't give a shit just go ahead and sit at the table and take a chance that they will get away with playing underage, and saying it's the dealer's fault for not carding. Let me come to you job and fuck around with your career and when you lose your house and family and let's see how much fun it is. fucking people are air biscuits.
Why not just have respect for the law? "Son, we respect the law in this family. We realize you may be tempted, but it's illegal, and so that's that."

Wow. This poor kid.

gartel's got it just right. Most underage gamblers get away with it. But when one's caught, the authorities go overboard in prosecuting all involved. They do so to really put the pressure on the industry not to tolerate it. Make an example.

Life is long. No kid needs to start gambling in casinos at 18.

BTW, the OP's sig is priceless:
Everyone's so concerned with leaving a better planet for the children, how about leaving better children for the planet?
