Vintage Vegas (Please add photos - especially if you have personal ones)

I first came to Vegas sometime around 83 or 84. At that time Caesars Palace was king of the strip, although I think the Mirage was built only a few years later.

I seem to recall that most of the big marquee signs for hotels on the strip would not only headline their performer or show, but they would have things like "Prime Rib Dinner $5.99" or "Steak and Eggs $3.99".

They had just permanently shut down jai alai at the MGM Grand (now Bally's).
Cool pics, I enjoy looking at the old time scenes.

Some neat pics. Love the old cars too !

That International pic with the King on the marquee is from around 69-71. (I stayed there in 70, my 1st trip).

Notice that Ike and Tina Turner are playing the lounge.

Tropicana Hotel

Believe it or not, Caesars used to have a Grand Prix race course where the Mirage now stands.
