Might do you some good, and I doubt any gays will be abusing you for it, although a good hug might be in the offing, and that never hurt anyone!
Tell that to men who were molested in their youth by a priest, coach, teacher, scoutmaster, etc.
I don't like the tone of Jaguar4000's post either. On the flip side (one of them), it is unfortunate for the BSA, an organization that promotes character building among young men, to lose Disney's donations, potentially depriving some disadvantaged young men of that experience. That, to me, is the moral dilemma of decisions like Disney's no matter how well meant. I don't know how the BSA, or the GSA for that matter, vette their leaders, but scout leadership is a big responsibility requiring a lof of sacrifice of personal time. I'm guessing there isn't a long line of adults applying. In my scouting days parents were grateful to whomever would take on those roles, and as far as I know the leaders were mostly parents of a kid in the troop.
Has the BSA had a lot of scoutleader sex scandals lately? Why did they take this position? Was it ignorance and bias, which it certainly sounds like on first take, or have they kept something quiet, like the churches did for so long?
Both sides of this had to know they would come under some serious fire.
I'm not anti-gay, just trying to look at the issue from all sides.
