NOT! Yet another push to try and get Dan Snyder to change the name of his NFL team. I've never lked him ever since he bought the redskins fro Jack Kent Cooke who was one of the remaining class acts in the league.However, on this issue I admire his stance to the PC bullsh!t.
This time it's from fifty of our distinguished US senators. What a waste of time. If they really wanna follow through on this, why not start a push with the Cleveland Indians?,,the Chiefs in KC?, or the biggest one of all, the...<GASP> ...the NY Yankees. Masturbating men all across the country turn red every time they hear that one.

As forkushV explained, "Redskins" is a slur. Indians, Chiefs, and Braves aren't.

No one who is a Yankee minds being called a Yankee. Everyone who is a Native American minds being called a Redskin. Get it?

How is this not obvious to even simple folk?

A negative context could be drawn for just about any team name when one chooses to. I always thought of Indians, Braves, Chiefs, Warriors, and even Redskins to convey strength. Never thought of any as a slur, until somebody said it was, and then I think they are looking for something to be insulted about, to get attention.

Our two know it alls once again show their ignorance. The problem with the Cleveland Indians is not their name but their team logo.




Regarding the Redskins, there are many American Indian Groups who are not offended by the name and would be dissapointed if Snyer were to change the name.

I agree that Chief Wahoo is insulting and should go. Always have.

But that's not the team name. And he's being phased out.

And seriously, jatki, I've been aware of the New York Yankees since I was a small child, and not once did I ever associate their name with masturbation.
