What makes the red man red? The lost boys know.

Being from Texas I had always heard that northerners were called "Yankees" because they masturbated all the time. Of course I was around 12 at the time.

HA! Being from the DC area that one makes the rds every time somebody starts crying for a name change, funny everytime still.

Ya know, the entire time growing up I never once equated the NFL team Wsahington Redskins with anything derogatory whatsoever or ever compared it to any people at all. It just never registered in my head to equate it with any person other than a wash. redskin football player. If I heard anybody say "that's one bad ass redskin", it was always during a football game. Not until the PC people got their panty's all in a wad did start equate redskin with actual people. You know why? 'cause nobody ever said it unless it was during a football game! Not since 1890 whatever anyway has it been used in a derogatory way.

The meanings of words change over time. For instance the word Fuck used to be proper English. Here is my favorite example of a word that took on a different meaning over time.
