We'll open, but we don't want your business ...............

..........at least not tonite.

Horseshoe Cincinnati opens Monday, March 4 at 8:00 but there will be NO onsite parking for local patrons. This is due to the fact that a party is being held for "special" guests during the day and the huge garage will be full. Regular patrons are invited to park a half mile away at an entertainment area on the riverfront and take a shuttle to the casino and "wait in line" as they are saying on the news outlets, for entrance to the casino. The temps will be in the 30's that night!

They have the right to close the whole place down for a private party if they choose.
They did offer an alternate parking plan.

Geezy peezy, have you never seen a business cater to a large party?

I wouldn't tell the public to park a half mile away. If you want to close the casino for private party - fine. But if you are going to open it up to the public then its not particularly inviting to tell them to park in the next county.

The blatant message it send is that our private guests are more important than our public ones. Bad Public Relations. But I'm sure they'll survive it.
A "half mile away" walk really isn't that bad, but then you have to "wait in line" to get in. That part sucks.

And if it's that crowded, then I'm guessing you have to basically "wait in line" for everything else when you do get in,
.......... like stand in back of people at the machines or at the tables waiting for a vacancy.

I'd have two words for them, ............. and they aren't "Merry Christmas".

Rick

Casinos do promotions all the time that inconvience those that are not participating. This isn't much different.

Where did you get your info on the private guests? How to you know they are not regular players?

This is the Grand Opening. They have no 'regular players'.

Somebody needs to check it out and give us the skinny on the VP paytables. If they're as good as the ones in their Louisville property I'll make the 2 hour trip to pay a visit.

But whats this I see? No Paula Deen buffet? Oh, dear.
So if you are not an invited guest avoid the place for one Monday night. I would stay clear of a casino that had a special event without regard to parking issues just because it will be crowded, service might suffer and game availability may be an issue. No big deal in my book.
I'm an invited guest Monday they are flying me from Cleveland.. Monday... They have dollar 9/6 JOB.. Don't know about other vp because I only play JOB
