What the Heck Is Going On With Gas Prices Again?

Do you have to buy 3 gallons to get it at this price?

My bad, I'm in the wrong thread.
He had to mean the commodities market. That's where all the speculation takes place.

US Crude Oil supplies are at a 20 year high. The price of gas is bound to come down....maybe way down....as long as that Iran Nuke poster's warnings don't come to pass.

California is doing the summer shift to different blends...that's always a good excuse for higher prices...temporary higher prices.

Why would Calif. have to switch to a different blend of gas? Very rarely do temps dip below 40 degrees, and you have to be up in the higher elevations to get them to dip to freezing! It's just another scam by the oil companies.

Simple, its called s m o g.

California has their own blends as to reduce pollution. Kinda like the reason why you have emissions testing on your cars every year. This particular blend costs more to produce and you get charged more for it.
Now I'll tell you what is such BS. When oil was $98 a barrel about two weeks ago, Arco regular was $4.199 a gallon. Since then, even as a barrel of oil has dropped to $88 a barrel, our gas prices ROSE again, and have now settled to where they were two weeks ago...even though the cost of a barrel has dropped $10. Is that the pits or what?

gas is way down here. I saw $3.24 for regular and paid $3.37 for mid-grade the other day.
3.34-3.47 here
$3.12 yesterday.
Gas prices are much lower than some alarmists were predicting a few months ago:

Certainly, this summer, we’ll see the highest gas prices in years.
- John Boehner, Speaker of the House, February

Right now we’re headed toward $5 a gallon and by the end of summer – maybe 6.
- Bill O’Reilly, Fox News, February

They’re gonna go to $5, $6, $7.
- Donald Trump, vulgarian, April

Right now, the average gallon pumped in the US sells for $3.38 A year ago, that price was 7.3% higher.

I'm pleased by the decrease in gas prices over the past year. It's nice that these predictions about this summer's prices seem unlikely to come to pass.

Yep....and if you called those 3 on their oh-so-accurate predictions, they would just deny ever having said it.
The US president is powerful but the price of gasoline is beyond his control.
