What in the heck is a room check?

I stayed at planet hollywood 2wks ago w/o a room check. Did your friend contact the hotel manager or her supervisor about the situation.

Never had this happen.

Sounds bogus for sure.

Contact PH and report it. Give the date and time, room #/floor, etc., any detail you can recall.

E-mail AND send a letter to the GM.

Include in your information that the more you thought about it, you suspect it was a possible attempt at theft from your room.

Doesn't matter what your friend had of value. You don't need to even bring that up.

+1

Usually, housekeeping knocks and says "housekeeping."

I've never had this happen. There have been times when I've run back to the room for just a minute or two and have not used the deadbolt. Thanks to your experience, I will ALWAYS remember to use the deadbolt.
You'd think they would be much more interested in what you were doing down on the gaming floor than in the bedroom. Supposed you were gambling for 24 hours straight and hadn't been up to your room. If there's nothing going on with your play than I might understand the need for a "room check."
This is no Vegas or Caesars related but was recently in L'Auberge in Lake Charles and had a knocking on the door at 6:55 am! Finally got up and peeped through the peep hole to find a guy in a grey shirt. I said hello? And he responded he was just checking to see if we were ok. Was not awake enough to ask why- but he left. I called the front desk who referred me to housekeeping. Housekeeping wasn't very sympathic and acted like we had a wake up call request. We did not. The guy did not identify himself as housekeeping. Finally got back to sleep only to be awaken at 9am with knocking again! By the time I got to the door he had stopped knocking, I heard him say housekeeping, and he had already used his key and was opening the door. Luckily the bar was across the door and he immediately closed it and was gone before I could look through the peep hole. I have never had this happen the few times we have stayed there before. When I checked out I asked if I had to hang the do not disturb sign on the door to keep this from happening and if this was standard procedure? Didn't get much sympathy but they would report it to housekeeping to make sure they keep their wakeup calls straight! From now on I will always have the do not disturb sign on the door wherever I am! I guess they try to get everyone up early to get them back in the casino- ha.

I've never had a wake up call where they physically come into my room to make sure I'm up.

I think personal wake up visits are now included in some resort fees.

Hopefully, they have a catalog of pictures so I can choose the wake up person of my choosing.
