I don't understand gold. It just sits there. It does nothing to earn its keep. You just hope someone comes along and wants it more than you do.

A company makes widgets. As people buy the widgets, they make more. Increase demand and expand, ever making more widgets, and grow the business and profits.

Sure, you hope the demand for gold increases and one day you can sell it for more. Yet more gold is constantly coming out of the ground. It's like a company that constantly keeps printing stock and diluting your ownership.

I'd rather invest in someone who works hard to succeed over a thing that just sits there looking pretty and wanting to be loved.

For those who trade in gold I wish you the best. I just don't get it myself.
