when the powers that be wouls simply lock a thread instead of just whacking it outright? Is it their opinion that those interested in at least reading out a thread aren't intellectually capable enough or mature enough to handle it? I can understand locking a thread(like used to) if deemed inappropriate for whatever reason, but to keep whacking threads willy-nilly is becoming rather annoying. I'm sure some people would like to at least read out what was said.

Let me field this one.

Obviously LVA has decided that political posts are not an enhancement to the site. And that they know they would be subject to increasing political posts if folks know they have a shelf life of at least a couple of days. As I type this on August 2 at mid-day there are still some posts on Page 1 from July 31.

Jatki - They are quick on the trigger nowadays. Even more so than when Ody was steering the ship. Anything that remotely goes po-li-ti-cal gets zapped.

Even threads that are mere mentions of past threads that got whacked.
