Whats up with Greeting Cards?

Your dad needs to adapt his rhyme to today's inflationary reality.
Well...........I guess I'm the sucker on this board then, because I love getting cards and sending them! However, I usually buy them when I go to WalMart (which sells them below listed price) and stock up on about 20-30 cards, which I keep in the house and use as birthdays come along.

DonDiego knows the house isn't a happy place to be if he hasn't gotten me a card for...mother's day (I KNOW I'm not his mom, but still!), my birthday, our Anniversary and Valentine's day. We don't do gifts, just cards for each other, so that's not really too much, $-wise. (and we don't do gifts because when you get to our age, you really don't need anything...and if you DO, you just go get it when you want it and don't count on someone else to get it for you)

DonDiego is learning to "get" the whole romance thing...but he's still not all there. Last month, for our anniversary, he started to give me my card at dinner (ahhhh...) but then he remembered he hadn't 'signed it' yet, so he asked for a pen from my purse, signed it in front of me, put it in the envelope and then handed it to me.....LOL 1000x!

My wife is the same way. roll-my-eyes. She loves those cards.
I've never been on time mailing greeting cards, BUT the internet has changed all that. You can go to 1-2-3 Greetings or Hallmark or a bunch of others and send out cards for FREE! And they aren't junk either! They play music and have nice themes so you aren't embarrassed for sending one of them out. If you can't meet the person you are sending the card to, it's an easy way to get a card to them, and you aren't at the mercy of the Post Office to make sure they get there on time.

My daughter got married on Cinco de Mayo, and I found the perfect card for their anniversary. It showed a Mexican band playing their instruments and wishing them a "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY". Doesn't get much better than that!

Dollar Tree sells cards 2 for a dollar, and they are pretty darn good ones.
I've started making my own cards...using only rocks and a sharpie. I call them rockards.

Dollar Tree rocks!

Dollar Tree is selling bankrupt repo stock

BUT

If you had to pay the designer
and you had to pay the writer
and you had to pay ther wholesaler
and you had to pay the retailer . . .
then your cards are bargain

Amazes me how everyone values their time at over $100.00 an hour but values everyone elses at less that $10.00

We now return you to your normal programming!

Rocks are free.
