Where should we venture to??

Husband and I have been to Las Vegas many, many times. We usually like to venture out to surrounding areas to get away from gambling for a few days.

We have been to many, many places - as far as Ely, Reno, Flagstaff, Tuscon, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions where we could go the next time we're in Vegas (January 2013) just for a little diversion.

We usually spend a few days in Laughlin so could venture out from there also.

Guess in January it would have to be someplace other than NORTH because of snow, etc.

Thanks!
We enjoyed Lake Havasu and Oatman.
DonDiego recommends a multi-day trip to either Bryce Canyon National Park or Death Valley National Park.

The route to Death Valley doesn't offer much diversion, but the park's attractions warrant a two-day stay.

The scenery on the way to Bryce Canyon through southwest Utah is gorgeous. The Best Western Ruby's Inn, just south of the junction where the road to the park leaves Highway 12, is fine for the nights before and after the Park visit.
One can drive the length of the Park with frequent stops for outstanding vistas and short hikes in a day. Also the pleasant casinos in Mesquite offer a change from the behemoths of Las Vegas.

Bon Voyage !

Oatman & Laughlin.

Thanks for the two suggestions....been there, done that several times. I think our problem is we have done all the touristy stuff EXCEPT going to LA while in Las Vegas.
Sonoma,AZ is very nice, although a bit of a drive from LV
I've been to Arizona kagillions of times, write about it frequently, but I've never heard of Sonoma, AZ?

Chessie, if you've done what everyone suggests as an alternative why not simply try another part of the country or North America or the world?

Do you mean Sedona, Arizona?
THAT makes sense. 'Cause no one would recommend Sonora. lol Although I like Sonoita.
You can head out to Primm and get the Wagon-Wheel Buffet @ Whiskey Pete's. Its a stomach-turning good time !
