Will it work in the movies ?

June 20th, the best show in Vegas - Jersey Boys - will be opening in the theaters....

It stars Erich Bergen, I remember seeing him in Vegas, playing Bob Gaudio....

will you be seeing it ?
I saw the Broadway version which is terrific. I suspect that it will more focused more on the challenges in their lives; while the show focused on the music.

At this point I would say maybe.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as the Rock of Ages movie
Unless it really gets panned before I go to see it, I will plan on seeing it. I really enjoy the play.
We plan to go see it but it is a movie and will be very different than just a song show.

When it comes to becoming a box office success, color me skeptical. Very good music and great performances when I saw it on stage, but the storyline was paper-thin and hopelessly cliche ridden. And the average original Four Seasons fan has aged about ten years since the show first opened on Broadway - if they were lucky - and can no longer sit through an entire movie without visiting the restroom. So there goes that demographic.

But I'll be seeing it soon, because anything directed by Clint Eastwood is at least going to be good. (Although I find it really hard to believe an accomplished composer, musician, and jazz aficionado like Eastwood ever sits around listening to the likes of "Big Girls Don't Cry.")

But what do I know? I liked Cop Rock.

Agree with all comments.

Loved the Four Seasons big time and liked the Jersey Boys show in Vegas. Except I kept waiting for "Candy Girl", which was one of the "Ones that got away." Boo hoo.
If forky actually went to see the show he would have noticed that the audience crosses all demos & everyone enjoys the show. It still operates at near capacity in NYC

I enjoyed it at the Palazzo a few years back, and the audience consisted of children and teens, who I'm pretty sure didn't pay the $80 or so tab with their own funds, and young adults through oldsters who did. But there were a lot of oldsters.
