Will it work in the movies ?

Because of the vast sums of money involved, all major film releases these days are accompanied by detailed box office projections.

The current forecast for Jersey Boys at boxoffice.com predicts an opening weekend of just $14M with a cumulative take of just $49M.
Yeah, but the CBO does those projections
I hope it will be a hit. Eastwood cast one actor from each of the successful theater production. I think that was a smart move; much better than having Pierce Brosnon (Mamma Mia).

Should have opened in the fall or Thanksgiving time frame, I fear it will be lost with the summer blockbusters....But this year seems like a weak year for movies (or it is probably I am just getting older). I saw x-men last week and it was OK; but not worth a repeat visit or home viewing.

Well I do hope it works and hope it opens doors for the actors.

Or the cast of nonsinging talent from the Rock of Ages movie

Do you know if anybody from the Vegas production made it?

Jersey Boys came in just below its already-modest opening-week projections. It grossed $13.3 million in its first weekend, which was good for fourth place. After 11 days, it took in 28.4M, described as "weak". It's no longer being mentioned in weekend roundups, but it did come in 6th its second weekend and 8th its third.
We saw the play at the Palazzo a couple of years back and saw the movie last week. It closely follws the stage production.

While the critics didn't seem to like the film, my husband and I loved it (and so did everyone else in the theater).
Frankie Valli performed three songs in the 4th of July show from Washington DC. There were many different ages of people in the audience and most of them seemed to be enjoying it. I don't think this will be a movie strictly for people over 50.

My wife saw it yesterday at sun coast while I was hacking it around bad lands. She loved it. Heard that Valli is mad about the movie and the 3 songs he sang in DC are not in the movie.

I hope you are wrong about the movie.

The three songs were

Grease
Can't take my eyes off of you
Lets hang on

I think of Can't Take my Eyes off of You as their best hit ever (it played almost in full in the play).
Lets hang on was really popular with the crowd also.
