If concealed carry laws caused fewer deaths, yes I would support them.

But you'd have to be a complete moron to support concealed laws carry because they are correlated with fewer deaths. The dimwits who think that correlation equals causation should limit their voting to American Idol and should be urged to never ever procreate. Can we all agree on that?

Since 1991 when American gun violence peaked, 24 states have added concealed carry laws and eac of those 24 states have enjoyed lower gun crime rates. The states with with strongest anti-gun laws are California, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, Deleware and Maryland.

Will Forkie be kind enough to tell us about the history of gun crime rates in these states since 1991?

I wonder if that applies to all those deaths in Chicago where they have some of the strictist gun laws around. I thought they could not have guns in the city? So what is killing all those people, flys?

Chicago does seem to be the poster child of failed gun laws and how it has the opposite affect of there intentions. One has to be a total moron to say otherwise.

And in New York City they are working quite well*.

See, that's the problem with correlation equals causation claims: one counter-example makes you look like a ninny.

* No, I don't really make childish claims of proof like that. I'll leave that to the right-wingers on this site.

You are forgetting that the police presence in the city is much higher than it was back in the 1970's. However, just wait the new mayor is just starting to undo all of the progress that made since the 1970's. The crime rate is sure to start going up....
The only thing more effective than strong concealed carry laws are stop and search. You know, just like the type used in New York City. The stop the folks who look like what most of the crooks, and they catch lots of crooks.
