The only conclusion I draw after watching several political pissing matches on the first page:
Score: undecided
Sarcasm: plenty
Insults: maybe even more
Usefulness: zero
Battling parties: always the same

Maybe some would feel better joining a "current events, political forum". But then again, I'm known for not always sharing general opinion.

mmmyeaa.. I suppose "talk" is a stretch isn't it? . It would be much better if it at least weren't so vindictive. It does seem some are a way more contentious and antagonistic than others, that's usually when things go down hill.

I can't argue one bit about your conclusions either.

Well, you know me, I always look at the bright side!

Recently, the tone of the political threads has improved. We used to have participants who would just fling insults without regard to the topic, and accuse others of being sick and mentally ill, among other things. And some would even launch into obscenity filled tirades.

Those people have not been participating in political discussions as much lately. And that's a good thing.

It would even be a better thing when no political threads appear on a Las Vegas forum. When somebody starts a political thread and nobody responds that would be the end of it pretty soon I would think.....

I think the solution to your problem is to start non-political threads yourself that way your leading the type of discussion you want to have instead of sitting back passively waiting for someone else to start it.

I think if we waited for Vegas only postings....you would be able to drown them all in a bathtub. The political postings are frequently clever, always passionate and sometimes even thoughtful.

So when you're not an active poster you have no right to speak up about a Vegas forum getting an abundance of off-topic threads? Is that what you're saying? I just want to make sure I'm getting this right.

No, I am saying if you want more Las Vegas discussions create threads discussing Las Vegas and participate in the existing Las Vegas Threads. Getting rid of what you don't like isn't going to get you more of what you like.

many people focused on Vegas left due to all the political toxic and tiresomeness. what makes you think they won't return or new people wont appear after the purge?
