The media & the race baiters have portrayed him as a young innocent. The reality is different.

The teen was suspended from school three times

He was on suspension when he was shot in February, after officials caught him with a ‘marijuana pipe’ and a baggie with drug residue he had been suspended from school three times

Trayvon was kicked out of school in October for graffiti after he was allegedly caught with a ‘burglary tool’ and a bag full of women’s jewelry

The Miami Herald claims that in October, he was caught with a ‘burglary tool’ – a flathead screwdriver – and 12 pieces of women’s jewellery. Martin insisted that they did not belong to him

" What if Martin had used that gun in the picture to kill an unarmed white dude walking through his neighborhood?"

It would not have made the national news for a year and a half

Don't forget He was staying with his father because his mom said she couldn't control him so off he went.

I believe it all comes down to this, there are folks who look at this in a more logical sense and those who look at it with their emotions and that leads to the disparity in opinions. There's nothing wrong with either way at all.

Who cares? Certainly not you. If we are dragging everyone's previous record of unflattering behavior then we could talk about Zimmerman's prior assault on a police officer, or his domestic abuse with his fiancee, or his alleged molestation of a girl when he was younger. I tend to think its not relevant to the events of the evening at the center of the trial. But you seem to think its fine to use one of the parties past to paint a profile but not the other. You dont find that to be the least bit hypocritical on your part?

DonDiego is troubled that folks seem to choose a side in the Zimmerman Case and only then advance a "story" that supports their chosen side. DonDiego doesn't have a side; the case does not affect him. [DonDiego is troubled when folks do this on political matters, . . . but he expects it, as they opine political decisions affect them.]

There's basically three main classes of witnesses:
George Zimmerman
Rachel Jeantel who was on the telephone with Trayvon martin
Neighborhood residents who heard/watched the conflict

One can watch the video of George Zimmerman accompanying the police and stating his version of the events of the evening of 26 February 2012 at the site of the incident.
On 27 February, George Zimmerman also took a lie detector test; Zimmerman was asked nine questions, including two related directly to the shooting: "Did you confront the guy you shot?" the tester asked. "No," Zimmerman responded. "Were you in fear for your life, when you shot the guy?" the tester asked. "Yes," Zimmerman said. The examiner concluded that Zimmerman "told substantially the complete truth."

One can listen to the testimony of Rachel Jeantel at axiomamnesia. Prior to the trial Rachel Jeantel lied about her name, her age , and not attending Trayvon Martin's memorial service.

One can draw one's own conclusion.

DonDiego finds George Zimmerman's version more believable. It is generally consistent with the telephone calls between him and the police dispatcher on the evening of the confrontation. It also addresses the matter of the injury to his nose and head.
DonDiego finds Rachel Jeantel's testimony less believable. F'rinstance, when she states that Trayvon Martin had arrived at his father's girlfriend's house - how did he get from there to the site of the fight? And some of what she claims seems not so credible, like "hearing" Trayvons jacket rubbing on the grass.
DonDiego finds the witnesses testimonies somewhat contradictory, as one would expect, . . . but generally more consistent with George Zimmerman's version than Rachel Jeantel's.

DonDiego concludes that had he been on a jury he would also have found George Zimmerman not guilty. [n.b. DonDiego has served on a murder trial jury; he concluded that the Mexican-national defendant had probably committed the crime, but DonDiego found him also not guilty, because there was more than reasonable doubt. The jury hung. The retrial jury found him guilty.]

[DonDiego finds the axiomamnesia site seems favorable to the defendant; he finds the hlntv site favorable to Trayvon Martin. Hey, that seems fair.]

[DonDiego suggests in discussing the trial one should avoid derogatory/complimentary adjectives when describing the principles in the matter and the trial. They'll likely indicate one's prejudices, more than one's knowledge.]
