Zip line downtown

We watched a few people go down the zip line this weekend. We noticed that the "catchers" at the end of the line would act scared, as if the patron was comming in too fast. They did this with each person. Nothing like a little extra scare at the end.

There's no minimum age per se, but there is a minimum and maximum weight (60lbs and 250lbs are the limits). Too light, and they get stranded in the middle of the line.

...And if you're a fat ass, you fall through the street and get eaten by the rats (if you're lucky).

Of course this is better than the alternative...if the pavement fails to give way you're stuck getting mouth to mouth by some drunk loser who just lost his last 5 bucks on penny slots in the Plaza.
The overweight people get Ziplined right into the Fried Twinkie stand.
Maybe Depends or Pampers should be require to ride that line.

Do they have a scale they put you on if they think you are close to the limit? Do people tell them that their shoes weigh 40 pounds?

Everybody is weighed on a scale before they buy their ticket.
so they weigh everyone....even people who look like they are nowhere near 250? OMG. As many women do the zipline, that kinda surprises me. Females hate getting on the scale in front of anyone

My wife even made that comment when they weighed her...she weighs around 110, so there was really no question as to whether she was within the limits. They then record the weight on a document that you sign (a legal waiver of some sort). I guess that given the legal system these days, they're really covering themselves as much as possible.
Someone should invent a scale or device for this type of thing. You set it on the max amount and it just gives a pass or fail answer.

I was wondering because of the poster who said that he was slightly over 250 but got through with a tip (or bribe, I guess). That really surprised me because of the liability issues.

I went Ziplining in Skagway Alaska last month and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I am afraid of heights and the "adventure" I was on went from tree to tree hundreds of feet above the forest - at one point with Bears below us.

In Alaska, you had to wear gloves and use your left hand on top of the pully to "steer" (kinda like opening and closing a jar) and the left hand to slow yourself down (behind the pully) as you approached a tree.

Is the Vegas system similar or more link sitting on a seat and going with no self control. Do they let you take pinwheels so you can yell --- Weeeeeee? They wouldn't alow that in Alaska as you needed two hands to steer / stop.
