Any stores still open at the Primm Mall?
Yes, there is. Notice the singular verb in that sentence -- amazingly enough, only one store remains open at the Prizm Outlets Mall.
It's called Sanithrift, a thrift store that somehow has stayed in business as the lone outlet for two years or so (we last answered this question in August 2024 and it was the only open retail store in the mall even back then).
When this mall opened in Primm in 1998, it boasted more than 100 stores, with such popular brands as Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, and Gap. And it started out like gangbusters; only three years later, it was among the top-five outlet centers in the U.S., based on sales per square foot.
The rest, as they say, is sad history.
Sanithrift opened in 2021, closed for an upgrade in late 2024, then reopened a year ago this month. The big 30,000-square-foot space is a thrift store with a twist: "Every garment is sanitized."
You can get into Sanithrift directly from the parking lot. Since the rest of the mall is closed and locked up tight, Sanithrift is essentially a standalone store in what would have been the last retail property standing in the whole little settlement, if white-knight Terrible's hadn't shown up earlier this week to keep Primm Valley hotel-casino, the gas stations, and lotto store open, rescuing Primm from extinction on July 4.
