Question of the Day - 19 June 2017

Q:

In a recent QoD, you wrote, "...a fright-zone experience based on The Walking Dead will open in a Fremont Street building that also hosts a Walgreens." Please say more!

A:

Our pleasure. Thanks for noticing.

The estimated $1.2 million year-round attraction is based on the zombie TV show, “Fear the Walking Dead,” now in its third season and a spinoff from the Fox/AMC series “The Walking Dead,” entering its eighth season.

The attraction will be located at 425 Fremont Street, between 4th St. and Las Vegas Blvd. in the building houses a Walgreen’s and Hennessey’s Tavern.

Details remain pretty sketchy; it sounds to us like the developers are keeping mostly mum until the grand opening. But the attraction is described as “innovative, interactive, and multisensory” and sounds like a maze through a haunted house (one report said a high school) with thrill-ride and video-game components and lots of fake blood.

Another story reported that the walkthrough attraction would take right around 20 minutes.

Work began on the building in mid-April and “Fear the Walking Dead—The Experience” is expected to open next month, though no date has been announced.

Zombies should fit right in on Fremont Street.
