What will happen with the Riviera’s gaming license? What is the value of a gaming license in the current economy, are there any others for sale, and what geographic restrictions are placed on the "existing" licenses?

I recently returned from Mexico, Riveria Maya. The resort had a casino (closed for repairs at the time), but from what I could learn and see for myself it contained one blackjack table, a roulette wheel and at least two banks of slot machines (approximately 24). It was always my understanding that casino gambling was not legal in Mexico. Has it changed? If so, any plans for a large casino/resort?

I know sometimes I forget my casino players card and have to get a new one printed. That said, how many players cards do the casinos print each year? How many are for "new" members and how many are "duplicates"?

Was trying to get to Vegas just to be in town for the big fight, until I saw some of the prices for that weekend... $400/night for the Golden Nugget? $267 a night for El Cortez [vintage room no less!]? Have you ever seen such prices like this before?

What's up out at Casino MonteLago on Lake Las Vegas? I always thought it was the best little casino around, although it never seemed to attract a loyal following. There were rumors that it would reopen last Fourth of July, then Labor Day, but nothing happened. Are you aware of any current or future plans?

"Today's News" at Las Vegas Advisor stated that revenue in Macau has decreased significantly the last two years after 12 consecutive years of increase. What are the causes of the decrease the past two years?

I've been reading on your site about so many restaurants closing: Sugar Factory; Sidewalk Cafe at Bally's etc. What gives? These are places I liked to go to! There is now no place between Paris and Bally's that you can go to for a normal bacon-and-eggs breakfast. Don't they think people like breakfast without going to a buffet for $30+??

With the imminent closure of the Riviera Hotel, can you give us a brief list of unusual facts about the resort? One thing I had heard was that the Riv was the first hotel on the Strip to house a fast food outlet. What was that outlet and can you give us any other little known fun facts about the hotel, not just the basic history?
