My isn't English very good, so would you have the kindness to translate this for your readers? Un joueur français qui aurait la chance de gagner un beau jackpot devrait-il payer une taxe? Connaissez-vous le taux? Certainly: Would a French player who's lucky enough to win a large jackpot have to pay tax on it? Do you know what that tax would be?

I'll be going to Las Vegas in May, arriving one day after my birthday. Are there any "birthday specials" at any of the casinos? Not just on the Strip.

Someone told me that the servers on the casino floors get charged for the "free" drinks that they serve. Is this true, or is it another of the Las Vegas legends? It will make a difference in how I tip if it is true. And how much does a cocktail waitress actually earn?

Have we seen the end of inexpensive Las Vegas? Reasons for the question: Air fares have nudged up year-round to LV; add in normal room rates, normal food prices, and high show prices and I'm getting the feeling that the casinos don't need my middle-income Midwest money two or more times a year anymore. Your thoughts?

I found your answer to the walking the marker question (4/7) interesting. But I had one problem with it. I've heard the term marker before, but I'm still not totally sure what a marker is or how it works. Can you please explain? Thanks!

On our last trip, we followed LVA's advice and went to Pho Vietnam for lunch at the Chinatown Plaza. We were amazed that there was a sort of Chinatown in Las Vegas. What's the story there? Was it planned? Or did it just grow up that way?

Thanks for the answer about high-roller chips a few weeks ago. But what I've always been curious about are the colors of all the other chips. I've seen red, green, purple, black, brown, blue, silver, etc. Are there standard colors of chips? Either way, can you tell us what denominations they all are?
