I regularly listen to Daniel Negreanu’s weekly rants which I find on Cardplayer.com. I find them enjoyable. His April 25 rant inspired this column although Negreanu was talking about poker and this column is about video poker. Continue reading What is your Nut?

What a Waste and I Screwed Up
I have two different “half-topics” I want to discuss. Neither merits a full column, but maybe both of them together do. Continue reading What a Waste and I Screwed Up
Advice to New Advantage Players
Many of you know that my radio co-host for six months was Richard Munchkin. He writes interesting things for his website and a couple of months ago posted Advice to New Advantage Players. I liked his title so much I stole it! And I’m going to be referring back to what he wrote, so I suggest you read that first. Continue reading Advice to New Advantage Players

That game returned 0.20% more than regular 8/5 Bonus Poker (BP) — which means the EV is $240 a month higher for this much play. The swings were fairly large and BPMS strategy is more difficult than regular BP strategy — which meant most other players preferred BP even though it pays less — but the swings and complexity were within my comfort zone so I went with the higher-paying game.
