Name the song the line is from Part II

Magic was done by Pilot.

I think your song got quite a bit of airplay. I really liked that one, and I was fortunate enough to see it done live. It's The Other Side Of Life, by the Moody Blues.

OK, 1987 for this one:

Don't try to run, I can keep up with you

Hey Jim,

I too was very fortunate to see the Moody Blues live, but it was in 2003 for me. It was a fantastic show. But then I don’t have to tell you, do I?

Your latest one looks like “Open your heart” by Madonna.

I understand this went to #1 in 1971:

I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees

That's another good one!

It's How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, by the Bee Gees.

From 1980:

Poets, priests and politicians
Have words to thank for their positions

That’s why we say, “De, do, do, do” and “De, da, da, da”. Kind of like the Police did in that song. That’s a fun one for me and I use it all the time.

Try this:

That's why you call me in the middle of the night

You're definitely on a roll lately, Cyndee! That's another great choice. It's Urgent, by Foreigner.

This one's from 1979. I didn't like it much at first, but it really grew on me:

Well, my buddy Jim Bass, he's a-workin' pumpin' gas
And he makes two-fifty for an hour

I guess the roll is over, Jim. I don't know that one.

Anybody else?

Well, don't give up the ship just yet. It's hint time!

This singer/songwriter composed several hundred original songs over a 40-year career. Among them were this #5 hit from 1979, and the Monkee's #1 hit, Daydream Believer.

On this song, Stevie Nicks sang backing vocals, and Lindsey Buckingham played lead guitar. Both were members of Fleetwood Mac at the time.

Here are some additional lyrics, including the song's one-word title:

Well, my buddy Jim Bass, he's a-workin' pumpin' gas
And he makes two-fifty for an hour
He's got rhythm in his hands as he's tappin' on the cans
Sings rock and roll in the shower

Drivin' over Kanan, singin' to my soul
There's people out there turnin' music into ____

(Kanan, BTW, is just a road in Southern California, in the Malibu-Agoura Hills area.)

You can listen to the whole thing here.
Now I get it. I thought that song was called “Turning music into gold” by Fleetwood Mac. Easy mistake, huh? It must be “Gold’ then, right? I have no idea who recorded it.

Now try this:

Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said

That was the featured song on our podcast a couple of weeks ago - Good one

Gold was done by John Stewart.
