Name the song the line is from Part II

I’m thinking that’s “Mrs. Brown, You’ve got a lovely daughter” by Herman’s Hermits.

I hope I’m right:

You know that it's crazy
You want to trust her
Then somebody hangs up when you answer the phone
Mrs. Brown is correct, Cyndee. Don't know yours, though.

You know that it's crazy
You want to trust her
Then somebody hangs up when you answer the phone

Funny how things sometimes seem clearer in the morning. That one sounded familiar last night, but I just couldn't get it. This morning, it clicked.

It's When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman, by Dr. Hook and The Medicine Show.

This is mid-70s:

Though death and darkness gather all around me
And my ship be torn apart upon the sea
I shall smell again the fragrance of these islands
In the heaving waves that brought me once to thee

I know that song. I just can't come up with the name, LOL. Something like "The Last Goodbye?"

Is that "The Final Countdown"
or
Homer's Ossessey???

Sue, I dreamed Dave hugged me last night and told me everything would "be alright" He had reading glasses and Marlboro reds in his breast pocket and was wearing that darn cowboy hat

Canadian eh? (adopted)
Written and recorded by Roger Whittaker - many covers - including Elvis.
The Last Farewell.

I think there is still one going so I won't post a new one

No, there's nothing pending, Tony. You're up!

(I was close when I said "The Last Goodbye," lol.)

Some 1966 - not many words in the song - so a short clue

Hi All,

I believe that’s “Solitary Man” by Neil Diamond. Good one, Tony.

Here’s one from 1977:

We just have to face it, this time we're through

We just have to face it, this time we're through

By Chance..
